Elizabeth (Betsy) Vergin (Mitchell), interviewed by Rebecca Mavencamp, July 8th 2013
Betsy Mitchell was born at Buffalo Hospital in 1931 to Sydney and Laura Mitchell and lived in the Rockford-Greenfield area most of her life. Betsy grew up on her family’s farm resort on Lake Sarah and worked as a Popcorn Girl at the Lake Sarah Pavilion. She married Lloyd Vergin and farmed for eight years in Loretto. The couple had 10 children.
